Type Locality and Naming

Lithology and Thickness
Shallow-marine marl. 60-90 m, Earthy, gray shale, marl and silty marl with sporadic thin-bedded gray limestone and marly-limestone intercalations, especially in the basal and middle parts.

Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Lower contact with the Mikin Fm is conformable.
Upper contact
Gradational contact with the overlying Chomule Fm.
Regional extent
Zanskar-Spiti and Himachal Pradesh to Kumaun-Garhwal region of Northwest Tethyan Himalaya
